Ambion® RNA Century™-Plus Markers are a set of 7 in vitro transcripts of 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 750, and 1000 bases. They are unlabeled for staining with EtBr and are provided in one tube containing 50 µg at a concentration of 1 mg/mL. They are premixed to give equivalent staining on a 5% polyacrylamide/8 M urea gel and are useful as RNA size standards in denaturing gel electrophoresis. 1–2 µg (2–4 µL) markers will generate 7 distinct bands on a TBE-Urea acrylamide gel with EtBr staining. Markers are also tested to be nuclease-free and stable overnight at 37°C.

(A) 2 µg of RNA Century Markers and RNA Century Markers-Plus along with an RNA transcript were electrophoresed on an 8 M urea/5% PAGE gel and stained with ethidium bromide. (B) 10 pg of BrightStar® Biotinylated RNA Century Size Markers were run on an 8 M urea/5% PAGE gel, transferred to a nylon membrane, and detected with Ambion's BrightStar BioDetect™ Kit.
